Animal Help Now is a project of Animal Watch, a nonprofit 501-C-3 organization dedicated to helping animals. I chose this organization because I love animals and support organizations that rescue and provide help for a variety of different animals in need of assistance.

I stumbled upon the app while researching sustainable related businesses and products. The limited color palette is what initially attracted me to this particular app. The emphasis on the color red for accent and emphasis is an integral part of the information architecture and guides the user as a navigation tool.

This Heuristic Evaluation was based on the standards set by four different systems of analysis. Starting with Jakob’s 10 Usability Heuristics. I also used Gerhardt-Powals' cognitive engineering principles, Shneiderman's Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design and Weinschenk and Barker classification.

There were quite a number of paths of entry with this product. I chose to focus on four main tasks to conduct the heuristic evaluation.
